JACK OLIVE : Jack studied chemistry and mathematics and worked as a biochemist until returning to Moorhead State College to work on a degree in ceramics and graphics. In 1971 he became a founding member of the Vancouver Clayworks Soceity where he helped develop methods of applying graphic images to ceramic sculpture and pottery. He now lives on the Coast where he has a studio.

KAY BONATHAN : Kay studied art history and visual art at McGill and Concordia Universities. In 1970 she began to specialize in sculpture. After travelling extensively she taught at various post secondary institutions and has been a resident on the Coast since 1991 where she works with a wide variety of sculptural forms and material.

UTAMARO KITAGAWA
: (1753 - 1806) was a popular Japanese woodblock artist during his lifetime and his work is still popular today. This print was made from 10 differently carved woodblocks- the publisher's markings on the back indicate it was printed between 1915-1925.

LEIGH BLAKEY : This kite is handpainted on polyester cloth using silk dyes. The square diamond kite flies well in moderate breezes. The dyes are heat set so the product is weather proof. A kite needs to fly.
