Meet Your Tour Guide - Cindy Buis Cindy's formal art training began at the Alberta College of Art, then she transferred to Halifax to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 1982 from the Nova Scotia College of Art Design. Born and raised in British Columbia, Cindy came to visit the Sunshine Coast in 1984 and moved here a week later. She opened ShowPiece Frames, which quickly evolved into Show Piece Gallery, exhibiting and promoting many local artists. Over and above being a retail store owner/operator, Cindy also works hard to organize various group exhibitions and displays, hosted art videos and developed art gallery and studio tours. After 13 years as a retailer, In 1997 Cindy decided to close her retail shop while continuing to do art promotions from the flexibility of a home-based business. In 2005 she opened Artworks Tours & Framing - currently located year round at 441 Marine Drive - Lane Entrance Gibsons Landing, B.C. She is able to assist people with custom picture framing or to find that perfect art treasure, happy to custom design an art studio and gallery tour or will organize art workshops for 4-10 participants.
