procelain lotusKay Kay Bonathan studied art history and visual art at McGill and Concordia Universities. In 1970 she began specializing in sculpture and three dimensional design. She has taught art in several post secondary institutions including: Academie des Beaux Arts, Port au Prince, Haiti, Concordia University, Montreal, and Kwantlen University, Surrey, BC. She was an active community artist on the Sunshine Coast since 1991 and hosted the cable TV program, Arts Update.

In 2008 she won the Klein Award for Excellence and Innovation in Visual Art. She works in a wide range of sculptural materials including: fiberglass, plywood, concrete, cold cast bronze, antler, hydrostone and recycled materials. More recently she has been exploring the infinite potential of ceramics. She has travelled extensively in Asia and the Caribbean and now lives in Coquitlam.
